The Big Chop......Definitely Australian Made

Have you heard about these chopping boards?  I was listening to the radio today and heard the name mentioned and of course, I just had to do some research....and I was very happy with what I found when I went to the Essential Ingredient to have a look at them...here

The Big Chop  is an Australian company based here in Melbourne and the chopping boards are handcrafted from Tasmanian hardwood timber.  The chopping timbers are sourced from a group of sustainably managed plantations and native re-growth forests in Tasmania.  In effect, the chopping boards are from offcuts of timber such as Myrtle, Celery Top, Tasmanian Blackwood, Tasmanian Oak and so many more.  So this is a very good use of putting otherwise waste, to good use... here

These specially selected timbers are used to make aesthetically beautiful boards that harness the natural colour and beauty of the timbers - no two boards are the same.  I just love the  board with the grooves to catch all the juices when cutting your roast...good way to add to your sauce....here

The Big Chop boards are a unique work of art that create the perfect surface for food preparation or use as an impressive presentation piece for cheese, charcuterie, antipasto or whatever you wish.  I believe that the cooks on the television show My Kitchen Rules use The Big Chop boards....Apart from the Essential Ingredient, there is also a selection of boards available from David Jones, Minimax and available on line.....here

Also if you would prefer you can design your own bespoke board.  Just email your design, measurements and choice of timbers to david@thebigchop.com.au and they will do their utmost to meet your requirements.........sounds great doesn't it?  An excellent product.....

Just love the fact that these are All Australian Made.....Wendy
